We are a mission driven family serving youth, teens, and families in horse powered learning!
OUR STORY
4S Ranch & Forge didn’t start out as a place of serving others. It began as our little piece of heaven to raise a family and ride our horses to be competitive in rodeo. Before long, it became clear that trying to juggle working a corporate job, be a mother and wife, and ride horses competitively was not the dream I envisioned. Eddy’s successful farrier business gave us the opportunity to pivot and he suggested I quit the corporate job to focus more on raising the girls and helping him in his business.
That leap of faith made space to breathe, dream, and pray for how God wanted me to serve. Summer camps for youth was the initial calling, and we have since grown to create an LLC that includes Eddy’s farrier business, a lesson program for mainstream children, and serves families, youth, teens, and special populations in Equine Assisted Learning.
The 501(c)3
We recently created a non-profit in tandem with the LLC, that allows us to serve at-risk youth, teens and families through fall, winter, spring and summer camps that teach life skills and deepen faith while building resilience and courage through working with horses. Our scholarship program offers those who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford a horse experience many opportunities. We currently serve over 300 children, teens and families. We have worked hard, with God leading us to provide quality, purpose-driven programs that use experiential learning to facilitate life lessons and individual growth in order to live out their best life, while keeping God in the center of it all. 4S Ranch & Forge and all who come, are my whole heart. I love serving in this way and am blessed! I hope I see you at the Ranch!

Cassandra Strommen
Cassandra received a certification in Equine Assisted Learning and has never looked back. Her passion is helping others develop life skills and confidence through the support of the horses!

Eddy has over 20 years of experience as a farrier. His passion for the horse and foot health shows in his work quality, and client list.

Ciara
Ciara has a passion for dancing and uses skills she's learned to lead and teach during camps and programs. She also helps with maintaining the ranch and works on our digital marketing.

Carsyn
Carsyn helps work the horses and is aspiring to become a barrel racer. She brings an abundance of positivity to our camps and programs with her willingness to help out and teach others about her passion and love of horses!

Snapper
Snapper is a retired roping horse who dabbled in barrel racing - owned by Ciara, he now lives a life of luxury, teaching kids and adults confidence. He will be 33 this year and going strong! He is shy and reserved but shines in the equine assisted learning program.

Ledley is our resident kind, patient guy! A retired rope / barrel horse, he loves attention and snuggles! We were blessed to be gifted with Ledley, by the famous Triple H Arena in 2015 and his favorite human and caregiver is Carsyn!

Huey came to us from Oklahoma when he was just a yearling! He captured our hearts with his silly personality and has been the "class clown" ever since!

Will a.k.a "Red" was Cassandra's reining / working cow horse but now doubles as an equine assisted learning horse. He loves being groomed and treats! His favorite job is to help humans learn confidence!

Penny- Rest In Peace Sweet Girl
Penny was a gift from Uncle Ryan and Auntie Emily, and she is the perfect gift! Small but mighty, she is a hard-worker in business, and takes care of her rider!

Zeus is the newest member of the herd! Purchased from North Winds Rescue in Deerfield, he sure fits in and loves to be pampered!

Chevy! The ranch favorite! He has dedicated his entire life to showing, teaching, and just being loved by everyone who meets him. Originally purchased for Ciara, he sure proved himself as the guy that can do it all. He is so loved and we are so thankful for him!
